Open Health Care Clinic has expanded our Open Talks Initiative to include free monthly trainings to complement our annual conference held every October. Coordinated in partnership with organizations in Baton Rouge and Nationwide, Open Talks' monthly trainings will also be approved for continuing education units for nurses and/or social workers.

In July, we are partnering with South Central AIDS Education Training Center and the American Academy of HIV Medicine for PrEP and the HIV Workforce: Expanding the Knowledge Network. Lunch will be provided. Pre-registration is required. Please click this link to register.

Feeding the Homeless

Open Health will partner with Baton Rouge Primary Care Collaborative to feed the attendees of the One Stop Health Care for the Homeless Health Center located at 153 N. 17th Street  Baton Rouge, LA 70802. This the second occasion both companies have partnered to do this event. Staff from Open Health and BRPCC will help to pass out pre-wrapped McDonald’s sausage biscuit sandwiches, hash browns and their choice of orange juice or water. Attendees will also receive a travel dental kit in their swag bag for later use.

Patient Appreciation Breakfast

Open Health is partnering with United HealthGroup to host a breakfast for the clients/patients we love and serve daily. All clients/patients of HAART/OHCC are invited to attend. The event will be held in the Training Room at 3801 on Wednesday, August 7 from 8:30am-10:00am.

Open Talks Health Conference

Open Talks Health Conference is a component of our community health education initiative to provide year-round comprehensive health care training for clinicians, patients and consumers. Held annually in the fall, the conference provides CE approved sessions for nurses, social workers, LPC, LAC, CAC, RAC, CIT, students and other health care professionals on various disease states affecting the residents of Baton Rouge.

2019 Theme:  Health Equity

Our conference theme this year is health equity and will include three tracks focused on Aging, Women’s Health and LGBTQ.


  1. Provide awareness and education on health equity as it relates to the aging, women’s health and LGBTQ populations.

  2. Provide awareness with the current best practices and effective models in the delivery of care for the aging, women’s health and LGBTQ populations.
