CURRENT COHORTS

We are currently operating two N2K Nursing Education cohorts.

Our MHCC Cohort #1 is our most ambitious application of the N2K model to date. Our primary partner in this effort is the Oregon Consortium for Nursing Education. Our educational provider partnership is with Mount Hood Community College.

This program is specifically designed to bring the benefits of the N2K model to Oregon’s small, rural hospitals. Didactic education is provided via an array of sophisticated on-line educational tools. Student labs are provided at Central Oregon Community College. Student clinical training is provided in their home communities and hospitals, as well as at larger regional hospitals when appropriate. Participating employers include:

• Harney District Hospital (Burns)
• Lake District Hospital (Lakeview)
• Blue Mountain District Hospital (John Day)
• Pioneer Memorial Hospital (Prineville)
• Mountain View District Hospital (Madras)

Thirteen students are in this cohort, and they are scheduled to graduate from the nursing program in March 2010.

Our N2K PCC #2 Cohort is in partnership with Portland Community College. Eighteen students began classes in July, 2009. Participating employers include:

• Willamette Falls Hospital
• Oregon State Hospital
• Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Clinic
• Kaiser Permanente Northwest

The students in this cohort are scheduled to graduate from the nursing program in December 2010.
