STUDENT AND TRANSPORTATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Limited funding is available for student scholarships and school assistance with transportation. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the total scholarship request will be granted.

Student Scholarship and Transportation Assistance request forms will be available in September 2010. Once available, please submit your scholarship request early as these requests are granted in the order in which they are received.

Student Scholarships:
Students who qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch program are eligible for a Health Career Day scholarship. Please note: we ask students to pay as much as they are able toward the registration fee so we can scholarship as many students as possible.

Transportation Assistance:
We understand that budgets are stretched for field trips. Therefore, we have made limited transportation support available to schools. To help us stretch these scholarships as far as possible, we ask that you consider the following:

• Work with your school to "match" assistance dollars (i.e. if the bus estimate is $300, please consider asking OHCC for $150 and your district for $150);
• Coordinate with other schools in your district to fill buses, rather than each school applying for their own bus;
• Consider holding a fundraiser with your students to cover some of the costs associated with transportation and registration fees.
