The Oregon Health Career Center Health Careers Program (HCP),
assists high school students on their path towards higher education
and a career in health care. Through after school activities, academic
advising and our intensive college prep campus-based Summer
Academy, we provide a holistic health career education program
that works to bring participating young people into health career
education programs!
Over the past seven years, we have spent thousands of hours assisting first-generation college-bound and low-income students with interactive health-related activities, field trips, college visitations, and information about health careers. Our Summer Academy provides college-level science and math classes, study skills training, job shadowing, and internships that “jump start” our students into successful college experiences.
